Rena walked down the cold, dark corridor. As she stared helplessly into the emptiness that lay ahead of her, her bright amber eyes grew wide with confusion. This corridor was completely unfamiliar and there were no other students around to ask for directions"This is just brilliant! Now I'm late for class AND lost! Why does this ALWAYS happen?" Annoyed and at a complete loss for ideas she paced nervously. Ever since childhood, Rena had been cursed with the most rotten sense of direction. Once, when she attended a muggle school, on the way home she lost her way and was missing for 3 days. Lost in thought, the girl tripped and fell face forward and landed gracefully in a huge puddle of water.

As Rena wrung the water from her hair she had a strange feeling that something or someone was watching her. So when Steff suddenly appeared beside her she was really surprised. "Gaaaah!...Oh, er...sorry, I thought you were a ghost." Slightly embarrassed at her damp state she blushed and said, "Hello Steff. Nice to meet ya. Yeah, I got lost again." She wondered if she would ever get used to such a huge place. "I've been wandering around for hours. And now I'm late for potions. I bet Snape will have my head, or at the very least give me detention."
Sometimes I wish I could just fast-forward through time, just to see if it's worth it all in the end

Steff helped Rena up "You'll be lucky if the least you get is a weeks detentions, but I can take you there now if you want, or you can say you were in the hospital wing" Steff smiled mischeviously

Rena smiled back at Steff who was wearing a very mischevious grin. She laughed a bit and said, "I never thought I'd hear that suggestion from a prefect, personally, I think it's brilliant." For some reason, Rena was beginning to feel a little better about attending Hogwarts. Maybe the people here were not so intimidating afterall. Suddenly aware that she appeared to be zoning out, Rena asked Steff, "Will you really show me the way? thanks, how did you happen to find me here anyway? I was sure this corridor was completely empty..." Steff seemed to have a bit of mystery about her that Rena couldn't quite figure out. "Maybe I'm reading too much into this, yeah, probably..." she thought and waited for Steff's response. (ooc: sorry if my posts are too long *feel like I'm ranting a bit* and/or weird, I'm new to rp)

"Yeah I'll really show you the way" Steff paused, decideing if she was going to answer Rena's question about how she got there. "Your right the corridor you were in was empty" She ended up saying. "You're not reading too much into anything, it's always good to be thinking things over" Steff said to Rena's unsaid comment.

Smiling at Steff, Rena said, "Thanks for helping me out." For a second she wondered if Steff was reading her thoughts but decided it was probably just her imagination playing tricks on her. As she walked down the corridor with Steff, she made conversation, " I'm sorry to trouble you with this Steff. For as long as I can remember my family has always had a bad sense of direction, rotten luck I guess. It's rumored that we're cursed though." She continued to walk beside Steff feeling rather awkward.

Steff's midnight blue eyes seemed to get bigger for a second "It's no trouble at all...I don't have much else to do anyway..." Steff paused "No your family's not exactly cursed..." Steff said, she somehow knew this.

Rena blinked curiously at Steff as she paused. Steff's mysterious blue eyes seemed rather serious. Her words were even more perplexing. Confused, Rena's eyes widened as well, she turned to face Steff and asked, "huh...er,What do you mean Steff?"

"I mean you family isn't cursed, they have a rotten sence of direction, but not cursed" Steff was talking about something bigger and more unknown then a sence of direction. Steff's eyes widened as she realized she'd said too much "Oh..I...sorry about that" She paused, then changed the subject. "I'll tell Snape a teacher held you up, and I was asked to escort you down"

"She seems worried about something..." Rena thought to herself. Completely oblivious to what Steff had hinted about her family, the girl was simply relieved she wasn't cursed. Although, she didn't really understand how Steff had known this. She hadn't any idea about it herself. Welcoming the shift in subject, Rena said to Steff, "Thanks a lot for helping me find my way. I've got a horrible sense of direction but a pretty good memory so I won't get lost on the way to class again...not potions at least." They had finally reached the outside of the classroom. On the inside there was the faint sound of students working over cauldrons as Professor Snape lectured on about how to brew a proper shrinking potion.

Steff knocked on the door and went in "Professor, sorry to disturbe you but I was told to escort a student down here. Rena Langeley. She was with a teacher." Steff said Rena's last name even though it hadn't been mentioned. She left without waiting for a response from Snape. "Goodbye Rena...I expect we'll meet again" She whispered as she passed her to leave.
